Intellectual Property Rights Clinic, 2021
ICAR-NINFET has organized the IPR Workshop 2021 - Intellectual Property Rights Clinic on 18.03.2021 in BPD Hall of the Institute. The IPR Clinic was intended to cover mainly International Patent Application and its procedure and the Natural Bio-Diversity Act and Related Issues in Agricultural Research & IP Protection. Another target of this Workshop was to identify and settle on the doubts faced by the researchers to file the patent internationally and their quarries about the NBA related issues.
All the Scientists, Technical Officers on and above T-5, SAO, AAOs (Adm. I, II, III and Audit), DDO, PS to Director, and four Scientists from different universities of India participated in the programme.
Dr. D.B. Shakyawar, Director, ICAR-NINFET welcomed the august participants. He addressed to the participants regarding the importance of this types of Clinic. In the Introductory Speech, Dr. A. N. Roy, In-Charge, ITMU and PI, ABI and Head, TOT Division, stated about the importance of International patent filing and to explore the possibilities of filing patents in different countries where specific technology has the prospective opportunity.
Mr. Anjan Sen, the enlisted Patent Attorney of ICAR, delivered lecture on ““International Patent Application and its procedure’’ very vigilantly followed by a prolong discussion about difficulties faced by the Inventors regarding legal matter. With the example and case study citation he elaborately discussed the subject in a best possible manner.
Dr. Sushil Kumar Mitra, Ex. Deputy Controller of Patent & Design, delivered lectures on “National Bio-Diversity Act and Related Issues in Agricultural Research & IP Protection’’. In his lecture he briefed the Biodiversity Acts and related national and international rules. He also made the participants vigilant about the violation and limitations of the Acts and its enforcement aspect.
In the Vote of Thanks, Dr. S. B. Roy, In-Charge, PME Cell, expressed his gratitude to all the participants including the Resource persons for their deliberations to make of the Programme a successful event.
