ICAR-NINFET organized 5 Days Training Programme on Agri-Business, IP Management, and Entrepreneurship Development in Natural Fibre Sector

ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering & Technology organized a 5-day training programme on “Agri-Business, IP Management, and Entrepreneurship Development in Natural Fibre Sector” during November 23-27, 2021 at Kolkata under the HRD Series of Programmes with the aegis of ITMU & ABI of the Institute through hybrid mode.  

In his inaugural address, Dr. K. Srinivas, Assistant Director General (Intellectual Property & Technology Management) and Chief Guest of the programme stressed upon the importance of technology valuation and commercialization of research outcomes of the public funded research organizations like ICAR.

Dr. D. B. Shakyawar, Director ICAR-NINFET emphasized upon the importance of IP era in tandem with the IP management of the Institute. He envisioned that through the IP protection, ICAR may be one of the prominent Agribusiness platforms in the years to come.

Luminaries who has excelled in their field like Dr. Sushil Kumar Mitra, Former  Deputy  Controller of Patent & Design, Govt. of India,  Dr. Sanjeev Saxena, Executive Director, National Academy of Agricultural Sciences; Dr. Kanika Mallik, Principal Scientist, Department of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Diffusion Research, NISCAIR, CSIR; Advocate Anjan Sen, ICAR-Empanelled  Patent Attorney; Dr. Manju Gerard, Principal Scientist, IP&TM, ICAR-Head Quarter and Dr. Mahadeb Datta, Joint Director, (TT), National Jute Board have delivered their lectures in the programme.

Total 27 participants including three ABI-Incubate have participated in the programme from different organizations. Dr. A.N.Roy, Head ToT Division, Dr. S.B.Roy, Principal Scientist & Dr. L.K.Nayak, Principal Scientist coordinated the programme.
