ICAR-NINFET organized one day Industry-interaction on Jute Geotextiles (JGT) in collaboration with BIS and NJB

ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering Technology, Kolkata and Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), New Delhi in association with National Jute Board (NJB), Kolkata organized an one day Industry interaction on “Jute Geotextiles: A Sustainable Geotechnical Solution” through hybrid mode on 1st  December 2021.

Shri Moloy Chandan Chakrabortty, IDAS, Jute Commissioner and Secretary, National Jute Board and Chief Guest of the programme has stressed upon role of Jute based geotextiles in soil erosion control, river embankment and hill slope management and invited industry for moving forward to establish manufacturing unit under the scheme of diversified jute products.  

Earlier, in his welcome address Dr. D. B. Shakyawar, Director of the institute has emphasized upon the importance of jute based agro and geo textiles and role of institute for the standardization process of jute based products and instruments.

Guest of Honour Shri Jayanta Roychowdhury, Deputy Director General (Standardization-1), BIS; Shri J.K.Gupta, Scientist-E, Textiles, BIS;  Shri P.K.Chowdhury, Advisor (Technical) of NJB; Dr. Debasish Roy, Director General, IJMA and Dr. Sanjoy Debnath of NINFET were delivered their speeches as the eminent speakers in the programme.

About 100 participants both in online and offline mode representing different Jute industries, JCI, IJIRA, DJFT  and ICAR institutes were participated in the programme.
