ICAR-NINFET, Kolkata Celebrated National Girl Child’s Day

In her speech, Dr. Sujata Sahoo, Senior Scientist, ICAR-CIFE Kolkata Centre, and Chief Guest of the programme stressed the role of parents in Gender Neutral upbringing of Girl Child, giving them moral support for pursuing dreams and giving them an equal opportunity as boys in training, skill development and exposure. She emphasized to not only depend on the Government schemes and initiatives but also to contribute towards the empowerment of Girl Child at the family and society level.
In his address Dr D.B. Shakyawar, Director ICAR-NINFET shared that Girl Children need to be encouraged, respectfully treated and given equal opportunity in every household only then-future of the Nation will be bright. He stated that any unequal behaviour towards Girl Child is never acceptable. He heartily congratulated the Girl children from different districts like Malda, Murshidabad, Hoogly, Burdwan, Nadia, of West Bengal and Kendrapada district of Orissa who were chosen to be felicitated with a cash prize on this occasion with Direct Beneficiary Transfer mode basis
Shri. Naveen Kumar Jha, SAO ICAR-NINFET also shared the glorious saga of Women leadership from ancient times till the present in every sector like Medicine, Science, Finance, Banking, Administration, Sports etc. and enlightened the audiences about the remarkable potential every Girl Child holds with proper grooming in the right direction to contribute the Nation.
Photographs of ICAR_NINFET staff with their daughters were shown in the programme. The programme ended with the announcement of eleven winners from six different districts of West Bengal and Orissa, listening about their area of excellence, plans for the future and wishing them the best for the fulfilment of their dreams and contributing to the Nation.
