 ICAR-NINFET at Kolkata organized an Interface Meeting with The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development today.

Dr. A.R.Khan, CGM, NABARD, West Bengal Regional Office enunciated the initiatives taken by NABARD for the promotion of sustainable and equitable agriculture and rural development through participative financial and non-financial interventions, innovations, technology and institutional development for securing prosperity. He applauded the Institute for its technological attainment many of which may fulfil the requirement of farmers and the rural people.

Earlier Dr. D.B.Shakyawar, Director, ICAR-NINFET in his address elucidated a few area of collaboration viz. the entrepreneurship development programme, Product diversification, Establishment of Jute Fibre Quality Testing and Agric-clinics and Agri-Business Centres, Skill-building programmes, Start-up funding and Awareness and FLD programmes with the Institute which may open a new vista for uplifting the rural people.

Mr. Kamalesh Kumar, GM, NABARD, West Bengal Regional Office in his welcome address underlined the collaborative approach with ICAR-NINFET for reaching technologies to the farmers’ front.

Mrs. Amita Bose, DGM, NABARD, Dr. S.N.Chattopadhyay, Head Chemical & Biochemical Processing Division, Dr. Biplab Saha, Head, Quality Evaluation & Improvement Division, Dr. Alok Nath Roy, Head, Transfer of technology Division, Dr. Surajit Sengupta, Head, Mechanical Processing Division and Senior Officials of the Institute and twenty-eight District Development Managers of NABARD were present in the meeting.

Dr. D.P. Ray, Principal Scientist & Nodal Officer, MGMG coordinated the programme and conveyed his sincere gratitude to all the participants for the successful completion of this grand event.
